Have you ever imagined embarking on a magical, no wait fantastical journey? Of course you have. Well, how about exploring the wonders of Middle-Earth? The Auckland-based carrier have been renowned for their fun and quirky safety videos which have been filmed all over the place. From the glitz and glamour of Tinseltown in “Safety in Hollywood” to a rather crazy dance-class with Richard Simmons; it’s great to see that Air New Zealand showcased the Northland in their previous video “Summer of Safety“, but what does the latest one feature?

Well, let’s just say it showcases the very best of NZ in a different perspective, which is actually really clever. I kind of thought it was like being in Alice in Wonderland when I watched the video for the first time. I love it. A Fantastical Journey stars Hollywood icons Katie Holmes and Cuba Gooding JR, along with a unique recording of  “My little corner of the world”, performed by Kiwi artist Gin Wigmore.

According to Jodi Williams, GM of Global Brand and Content Marketing for AirNZ: “Following the success of our last safety video (Summer of Safety), which has had more than 7.6 million views, we wanted to showcase more of New Zealand’s cities and regions to help encourage tourism to those areas and drive economic benefit”. I personally think that is great. Featured locations include The Southern Alps, Mt Taranki, Cathedral Cove and many more.

Whilst it has been fun seeing videos which have featured Hobbits, the mighty All Blacks and the magic of Hollywood; it is great to showcase the best of what you have got at home. NZ is still on my bucket list, but after seeing some of the places features in this video – I’m more than ever ready to make the long journey from London.

A Fantastical Journey” conveys all the important safety messages in a fun and typical way that could only be achieved by Air New Zealand whilst encouraging you to view things differently. If you’re tempted to make the journey to NZ, here are some “Fantasrical Journey” trip suggestions

I think that the team at Air New Zealand have done another great job on a new safety video. I admit I am feeling rather jealous with those beautiful scenes. Is it their best safety video? I haven’t made up my mind yet. But it is certainly generating a reaction on social media.

What do you think of Air New Zealand’s latest safety video? I’d love to hear your thoughts. Don’t forget to share them with me on Twitter and use the hashtag #AirNZSafetyVideo.
