Disneyland Paris announces new experiences for 2017 Christmas Season

The kids have finally gone back to school after the long summer break, so what is next? Yes, we have got Halloween – but let’s skip that and fast forward to the merriest time of the year… Christmas! That’s right, Disney have announced what they have wrapped up for guests looking to experience the magic of the 2017 Christmas season at Disneyland Paris. #ChristmasAtDisneylandParis

Running for almost two months from the 11th of November ’17 through to the 7th of January ’18, Disneyland Paris is set to be transformed into a world full of yuletide cheer as the resort continues to celebrate it’s 25th Anniversary.

This year the holiday spirit is being turned up a notch with a number of new entertainment offerings within Walt Disney Studios Park. So let’s take a look at just what awaits for the season at Disneyland Paris.

Walt Disney Studios Park

Goofy’s Incredible Christmas

Using state-of-the-art projection mapping technology and special effects, Goofy’s Magical Christmas is reported to be an immersive night-time experience which will transform the exterior of The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror into a world of colour.

Sing me a Merry Christmas!

Taking place several times each day, the Production Courtyard Stage will play host to an interactive musical production starring some of our favourite Disney Characters. Guests will have the opportunity to sing along to a number of famous seasonal songs. I wonder if Elsa will make an appearance…

Meet and Greet with the Disney Characters

Mickey and Minnie Mouse will be meeting guests throughout the day in their holiday finest, along with Goofy who will be dressed to impress in his very own Santa suit.

Disney’s Christmas Parade

“Chante C’est Noel!” I think that was probably one of my favourite Christmas parade soundtracks from any Disney Park I’ve visited during the holiday season. Will it be making a return during the twice-daily Christmas Parade? Who knows! But a number of Disney Characters and performers will be making their way through Disneyland Park spreading festive cheer. I’ve also heard that Snow could be forecast for Main Street, U.S.A…

Disney Stars on Parade will also be performing daily – the new parade celebrating 25 years of Disneyland Paris.

“A Merry Stitchmas”

A brand new show is coming to the Sleeping Beauty Castle Stage this festive season. Can you guess who might be starring in it at all? The Genie Stitch of course! Mickey, Minnie and a host of other Disney Characters are going to teach Stitch the true meaning of Christmas through songs. This does sound like a cute little show.

Mickey’s Christmas Big Band

Videopolis in Discoveryland will be home to another live show – aptly named Mickey’s Christmas Big Band. The show will include all of our favourite Christmas songs along with singers, musicians and Disney Characters. It is certainly great to see Videopolis being used so much once again. Who remembers when The Legend of the Lion King used to perform there?

The Enchanted Advent Calendar

From December 1 – 25, guests will have the opportunity to awaken the magic of Christmas at the foot of Le Chateau De La Belle Au Bois Dormant. Again this is a new offering so no-one knows what to expect, only time shall tell!

Meet, Greets and Decorations across Disneyland Park

Christmastime at Disney is always magical, but inside Disneyland Park they do go to town. Expect frequent snow flurries on Main Street, U.S.A. throughout the day, seasonal decor and the opportunity to meet Disney Characters including Scrooge McDuck, Thumper, Miss Bunny, Marie from the Aristocats and many more. Until the big day itself, Santa Claus will also be receiving visitors in his own dressing room at “Meet Mickey Mouse” in Fantasyland.

Mickey’s Magical Christmas Lights

As night falls over Disneyland Park, there is nothing quite like watching the Christmas tree lights illuminate right in-front of you. Standing 24-metres high, the giant Christmas tree in Town Square will be switched on each evening in a dazzling ceremony with just a little  or a lot of Disney magic.

The Frozen Sing-along returns!

Queen Elsa, Princess Anna, Kristoff and Olaf are back by popular demand in the Frozen Sing-along show which will be returning to The Chaparral Theater in Frontierland. This is your chance to sing along to some of your favourite songs from the record-breaking movie.

Disney Illuminations!

Don’t forget to stay until park closing to catch the new and impressive Disney Illuminations! show which is certain to take your breath away and cause you to shed a tear. It did for me!

What else?!?

If that wasn’t enough, I am sure we can expect to learn more about Disneyland Paris’ Christmas season as time draws closer. I for one am very excited with everything which has been announced. The new entertainment offerings sound great and I’m secretly hoping to get enough time off work to hop over to Disneyland Paris to experience it all for myself. Who is with me?
