BA + AirPortr team up to help you travel to the airport bag free
British Airways has teamed up with AirPortr to offer customers the opportunity to check-in their suitcases at home; and then travel to the airport without it… and they won’t have to see it again until they reach the baggage reclaim area at their destination.
That’s right… you won’t have to struggle getting onto the Underground with your luggage, fight for room on the Gatwick Express or the nightmare that is weaving through the busy airport with tons of luggage.
Aptly named “AirPortr + Bag Check-In”, the service is certainly a game-changer for the industry and is available from all London postal codes.
How does it work?
You simply need to pre-book the service online and select a one hour time slot when their bags will be picked up. You’ll need to check-in for your BA flight before the luggage is collected; and passports and boarding passes are checked by the AirPortr team when they arrive to collect your luggage. Bags are then sealed in tamper-proof bags and go through additional security screening en-route to the airport before they are checked-in. All luggage is tracked and you can receive updates throughout your bags journey to offer additional peace of mind. All that you as the customer needs to do is arrive at the airport in plenty of time and head straight through security, onto the aircraft and to collect your luggage from the carousel at your final destination. Simple!
The service is available for booking on the majority of BA flights from LHR, LGW and LCY that depart from October 26 and beyond. The prices are pretty reasonable too.

£20 – from/to airport addresses and local hotels
£30 – from/to Central London
£40 – from/to Greater London
Regardless of your location, each additional bag costs £10 and there are no size or weight restrictions… although just make sure it confirms to the airline baggage allowance you are entitled to. Up to 25 bags can be taken per booking.
