Explore the magic of European Christmas Markets with British Airways

I hate to ruin the excitement for Halloween, but it is never to early to start talking about Christmas. Even some of the major department stores in my hometown have put up their Christmas decorations. Too early for that? Yes it is.

I don’t know about you, but I have always wanted to visit those lovely Christmas markets we read about all the time over the festive season. Located in charming European cities like Prague, Vienna and Berlin – they have always been something that has appealed to me, but I’ve never had the time, apart from maybe Winter Wonderland at London’s Hyde Park now and then. Sigh.

Why not take a trip to an authentic Christmas market in Europe?

This year, British Airways have put together a couple of lovely short breaks to European cities with return flights and two-nights accommodation coming in from £114pp. That’s £57 a night, which is not to bad at all. Below I’ve listed some of the best deals around right now. Prices are correct as of today and are based on two adults sharing. Be aware that availability is limited.

Prague

Prague’s Christmas market runs from the second of December through to the sixth of January and my aunt who has been to the city on several occasions says it is one of the best around.

Vienna

On a recent #LuxTravelChat a couple of participants and I were discussing how we want to visit Vienna and enjoy the authentic Sacher Torte. How about combining this with a Christmas market and ice skating through the City Hall Park? Vienna’s Christmas Market runs from the thirteenth of November through to the twenty-third of December.

Nuremburg

From the first of December through to Christmas Eve, Nuremburg is a brand-new route for British Airways from London Gatwick and the city is home to Germany’s most famous Christmas Market.

What’s not to love?

For me a Christmas market (wherever you are) is the perfect excuse to slowly wander around, soak up the atmosphere, enjoy a delicious treat or two and pick up some cute little Christmas gifts. So get out your calendar, book a day or two off work and go experience a European Christmas Market. I’ll have a delicious cup of Hot Spiced Apple please.
