30K – Updates that help you to track your miles
In a continuing series; today I’d like to focus on some of the newer updates to the popular 30K plugin.
If you don’t know what I’m on about; you really should read my previous post here, or the 49-word description below:
30K is a great way to get an overview of the potential (air)miles you can earn when booking a flight through third-party sites like Expedia, Travelocity and Orbitz. You can also track how many you’ll need to reach the next status on an airline loyalty program too.
In response to customer feedback, a number of updates have recently been introduced. Some of my personal favourite ones are below.
Upgrades
You are now able to clearly identify which fares are upgradeable with miles. If you don’t know what on earth I’m on about; airlines have a series of different “booking classes” within each cabin. Such as Y B R L U M E Q X O. Co-incidentally each different “booking class” has different restrictions; which varies from whether you’ll get a refund, to how much you’ll need to fork out for a date change, if you can.
Dashboard
Whether I’m looking at performance management frameworks, statistics or even checking my mobile phone bill; I love a dashboard. Fortunately, 30K now features one, so I can easily view all my airline memberships on one simple page and monitor my progress towards the next level, or keep an eye on when miles may expire.
Things to know
30K currently works with a load of frequent flyer programmes, and will be continuously adding more as time passes by. The plugin itself is currently limited to working with Google Chrome (not incognito); but it should be available on other browsers soon. You can sign up for a 30-day free trial of the plugin by just clicking here. After the trial, it costs £12.99/$20 a year for the plugin, but you can add as many frequent flyer accounts as you wish; and switch between memberships so you can identify which one will get you to the next tier faster. Great!
