Disney’s Hotel New York to receive a “Marvel-ous” makeover
Disneyland Paris has always been one of my favourite Disney resorts. It was the first one I visited when I was just a few months old and I’ve had the opportunity to visit many times since. At the past weekend’s D23 Expo in Anaheim, it was announced that one of my favourite hotels, Disney’s Hotel New York – is set to undergo a makeover to become a Marvel-themed property! Simply “Marvel-ous”. #SorryNotSorry
May I present to you Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel!
Now, The re-imagination of Disney’s Hotel New York will transport guests into the world of Marvel super heroes including The Avengers, Iron Man, Spider Man and many more. From the hotel’s new name and the concept arts shown below and above, the hotel will seem to retain it’s art-deco inspired decor whilst the Marvel theme is woven in to the architecture. Bottom line: Let’s just say it’s going to be an art-gallery themed hotel set in New York City with Marvel.
Reports are suggesting that Disney’s Hotel New York will close throughout it’s transformation, which actually is a good thing. Disneyland Paris recently completed a multi-million pound refurbishment of Disney’s Newport Bay Club, however the hotel remained open throughout, but that proved to be challenging from a guest experience perspective.
Disney’s Hotel New York was designed by post-modern architect Michael Graves and opened when the resort made it’s debut 25-years ago in 1992.
Over the next few weeks and months we can expect to learn more about the “Marvel-ous” (sorry, I had to put it in there again) refurbishment looming for Disney’s Hotel New York. But is there anything you would/wouldn’t like to see? Let me know in the comments below.
