Today, Disneyland Paris have announced details about the resorts hugely anticipated 25th Anniversary; which will begin on March 26, 2017. The tagline for the celebration is “It’s Time to Sparkle“… and sparkle it shall!

It’s hard to believe that Disneyland Paris will be turning 25 on April 12; a Disney resort which I have quite literally grown up with. Building on the success of the 15th and 20th anniversaries – guests young and old can look forward to upgraded attractions, new entertainment offerings and of course that double-dose of Disney magic.

Star Tours: L’Aventure Continue
Based on the success of the upgraded “Star Tours: The Adventures Continue” attractions at other Disney parks around the world; guests to Disneyland Paris will finally be able to embark on missions to multiple Star Wars destinations such as Jakku, Tatooine and the Death Star with the opportunity to interact with characters from throughout the saga. The storyline’s during the attraction will be randomized; therefore it’s something you can enjoy on multiple occasions.

Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain
If you’ve ever wanted to join the Rebel Alliance; then the popular Space Mountain: Mission 2 will be receiving an upgrade and hurtling guests through Hyperspace. In a similar format to the limited-time engagement at Disneyland Park in California; you’ll have the opportunity to follow the twist and turns of TIE fighters to the iconic Star Wars soundtrack. Disneyland Paris’ Space Mountain is the only version of the attraction to feature upside-down movements; so it really will feel like you are in the midst of a battle through Hyperspace. PS the attraction in California was a lot of fun.

Disney Stars on Parade
We all love a Disney parade, don’t we? Well in celebration of the 25th Anniversary; Disneyland Park will be receiving an all-singing all-dancing new parade that’s fun for the whole family. The European Disney resort has always put on a wonderful parade; therefore I’m looking forward to how this one turns out. Will we see elements from the popular Disney Festival of Fantasy parade from Walt Disney World in Florida I wonder? Indeed we shall. One of the early photos released is that of the Steampunk Dragon “Maleficent”.

Mickey presents “Happy Anniversary Disneyland Paris”
Everyone’s favourite Mickey Mouse will be the star of a new daily show where he enlists as many of his fellow characters as possible to help put on a huge anniversary party. I’m not quite sure where this show will take place – but I’m sure we will find out soon enough.

The Starlit Princess Waltz
In recent years the Royal Castle Stage at Disneyland Park has been under-utilised; but I was pleased to hear that it will be restored to its former glory with the debut of an exclusive show by the Disney Princesses.

Disney Illuminations
As the night falls, Disneyland Park will come alive with Disney Illuminations. Built on the resounding success of Disney Dreams!, the new nighttime spectacular will combine dazzling lights, projections and breathtaking effects as Mickey Mouse conducts a musical journey through the locations of some of your favourite Disney movies. Animated titles will include The Little Mermaid and Frozen, whilst motion pictures will feature Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, Star Wars and Pirates of the Caribbean. Exciting, although I will be sad to see Disney Dreams! fade away.

Final Thoughts
So there we have it, quite a few new and exciting things have been announced as Disneyland Paris turns a quarter of a century next year. I am sure this is just the tip of the iceberg of what we can expect for when the celebrations get underway. From the ongoing refurbishment programme to restore beloved attractions to their former glory, to the wider experience enhancement programme; what are you most excited about next year at Disneyland Paris?

I haven’t visited the resort since 2012, therefore I feel a return is long overdue!
