Air New Zealand announced as Airline of the Year for 2015

For the second consecutive year, Air New Zealand have been named as Airline of the Year for 2015 by AirlineRatings.com!

The website is the only safety and product rating resource in the world and attracts millions of visits each day. I personally find the passenger reviews, and the question and answer sections to be extremely valuable; especially when I am due to fly with an airline I may not have experience before.

If you didn’t know already, Air New Zealand are one of my favourite airlines whom I have flown with quite a bit over recent years. This latest accolade was awarded to them for their in-flight innovations, operational safety, financial performance and it’s staff – which really sets the airline apart form their competitors.

The team at AirlineRatings.com took note to highlight two products which can be found on Air New Zealand’s long haul fleet. The Economy Skycouch and Premium Economy Spaceseat; both of which are multi-award winners in their own right. Their Premium Economy product has also been rated the best in this year’s awards. I’ve experienced both of these products first-hand and will be one of many to say that these really do enhance the long-haul flying experience.

On another note; Air New Zealand have also been voted as the Best Airline for Business Travel in the Guardian and Observer Travel Awards. The Business Premier cabin aboard the 777-300ER is certainly an impressive sight to behold; and offers the perfect balance for travellers to do as little or as much as they please. And by that I mean either get a few hours work done, or simply sit back with a glass of New Zealand Wine and enjoy the in-flight entertainment. The food on board is also of a very high quality; the best I have experienced nonetheless.

As with any airline, the product is only so good, and the rest is up to the staff. Air New Zealand’s staff are a very friendly bunch, whom are proud to work for the airline of Middle-Earth and it really does show.  The enthusiasm, passion, and levels of efficiency, professionalism and personalisation delivered by the in-flight crew really is second to none, and I feel so fortunate to have experienced this for myself on many occasions. Considering the airline may only be ranked 50 in terms of global size, they have won a number of awards and continue to have a very loyal fan base.

A very warm congratulations to Air New Zealand on another thoroughly deserved award, I very much look forward to flying with the airline in the near future; and hope that you get to experience their warm Kiwi hospitality for yourself.
