I’m off on a Caribbean adventure!

Whilst the weather may be cold and dreary, I’ve got some exciting news to share… I’m off on a Caribbean adventure!

Tonight I’m staying at the Hilton London Gatwick Airport before having to be up relatively early to catch my flight to Barbados from where I’ll be setting sail aboard P&O Cruises’ Ventura for a two week Caribbean voyage!

To say I am pretty excited is an understatement. For starters, I have never been to the Caribbean before, only the Bahamas; so being able to visit eight new and interesting destinations is fantastic.  Secondly, I’ll be flying to and from Barbados with Thomson Airways aboard the Boeing 787 Dreamliner; flying with a different airline and on a new aircraft packed full with innovations is pretty cool for me.  What other reasons could there be for my excitement? Well, us Brits seriously love to complain about the weather this time of year; so a little bit of warmth and sunshine is just what the doctor ordered.

I have actually sailed with P&O Cruises on three occasions, two of which have actually been aboard the Ventura. Therefore I’m looking forward to sailing on one of the largest cruise ships designed for the British market once again; plus since I know my way around the ship and what not; it should be relatively plain sailing!

As I mentioned earlier, the Ventura will be visiting eight ports of call during the two weeks, all of which sound pretty exciting. So where will #BensCaribbeanAdventure take me? Here’s a little “itiner-graphic” I made a little earlier…

I’ve been fairly busy the past few weeks getting things ready for this exciting adventure, and I think that I may have ended up packing everything including the kitchen sink too; since you never know what you’ll need when on holiday. 😉

But for now, I better grab something to eat and then try and getting some sleep… I’ve got a very early start in the morning. Speaking of which; I’ll be experiencing the VIP treatment as I travel through the airport tomorrow with Gatwick First; a Premier Concierge Service, before a visit to the Aspire Lounge… another couple of things to be excited about I think!

If you have any ideas or suggestions on what to see and do both on board or at any port of call, then I’d love to hear from you! Please leave your comments below, and don’t forget to follow along on #BensCaribbeanAdventure on Twitter and Instagram!
